World Boss Events such as Sanctiflyer and Exodawn were just mini events between main 5-10 days events. These events have been extended to 5 days and changed so that you work with your troop like other events(rather than with everyone vs a World Boss like it used to be in the past).

A few things about Sanctiflyer

There is no rolling combo, even though it says when you engage
Each time the boss is newly engaged, it will have 50% more health
The boss will also yield 50% more trophies each time engaged
With each engagement, the attacks will do 20% more damage to you
